We recognise the importance of security and the privacy of our customer’s personal information. We adopt a strict policy when it comes to protecting the privacy of any information submitted to us. If you provide information to us using www.basement.nz we may contact you with information about Basement and our products and services. We collect information for the purposes of; processing and fulfilling your order, including to send you emails about your order status and shipment; sending you information about our products, services and promotions unless you have directed us not to send you promotional information; helping us learn more about your shopping preferences to enhance your shopping experience; analysing trends and statistics, protecting the security or integrity of our website and our business; contacting you if necessary. All promotional information will include an unsubscribe or opt out button.
Collected Information
This applies to all information collected or submitted through www.basement.nz. For the reasons stated in 'Use of Information', we may ask for your name, address, phone number, email address etc. We do not collect or store any credit card information on our database.
We also collect some information automatically whenever you interact with our Services and emails. This information includes log files (which include IP address, date/time of access, referring page URL and browser type) as well as information collected through tools that help us collect usage information. "Cookies" is an example of the type of tools we use to collect this information.
Disclosure of Information
For the purposes outlined in 'Use of Information' we may disclose your personal information to companies to improve our services or if required by law. These companies may include government bodies, courier services, marketing and ecommerce services and our professional advisers. We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
Website & Card Security
In effort to combat fraudulent transactions and the use of stolen information and credit cards, our management team may request a security check upon reviewing your order. To ensure your order is legitimate we may ask you for additional information to confirm you are the card holder - this includes screenshots of the transaction in question from a bank account, a bank statement, photocopy of the credit card and photo ID (these must match). If we are unable to verify the legitimacy of your order we will cancel it and process a refund to you.
Your Rights
While information is sought from you for the sole purpose of improving our service levels, you have the right to either refuse to provide details about yourself or remain anonymous. Of course, some of our services can only be provided if we have certain information.
Your information may also be used for the purpose of introducing other products that we believe might be of interest to you. If you do not wish to receive such communications you may unsubscribe / opt out at any time. You may also request to opt out of said communications directly by emailing hello@basement.nz.
